As the creator and head instructor for Uniting Hearts and Hands, Heather brings a lot to the community. She started in 2001 as a first responder and later paramedic. Through the years she continued to increase her knowledge by becoming an instructor for the American Heart Association. She received her Undergraduate from Utah Valley University in Emergency Management with emphasis in Paramedicine. She received her Medical degree from Trinity School of Medicine. She is currently finishing her residency in Family Medicine with a concentration in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Heather accepted a job in Washington state for Family Medicine Obstetrics with surgical recognition to start after residency. Heather often found ways to volunteer in the US, Central America, and Eastern Caribbean. Over the years, the challenges she faced working in the ambulance and witnessing young lives lost moved her to combine her love for her community and medicine. Heather started teaching her children, family, and friends how to perform CPR. In 2016 she decided to branch out within the community and eventually volunteered her time teaching throughout the United States and Eastern Caribbean. Her love and passion for service and volunteering continue as she teaches between her busy schedule. Heather is a loving wife and mother. When asked her thoughts on services she replies, “If there’s one thing I can teach my children and those around me before I die, is the love of serving others.”
